About Moving Meditation

About Moving Meditation

Most approaches to calm start from the top down — trying to quiet the mind with thoughts or stillness.

Moving Meditation takes the opposite path. By giving your body something purposeful to do — to balance, coordinate, and breathe through — the mind naturally settles.

In each class, you’ll combine gentle Chi Gong–inspired movements with breathwork, balance, and stability exercises. You’ll learn how to adjust the level of challenge or support, so every session meets you exactly where you are that day.

This is mindful movement for real bodies — not about pushing through pain, but about discovering what steadiness feels like when your body and mind are finally working together.

“No pain no gain”
is dead wrong

Give the body enough to do and the mind will be quiet...

Each class blends simple, full-body movements with coordinated breathwork and balance training.

You’ll learn how to adjust support or difficulty so that every session challenges you, but never hurts.

This isn’t yoga, and it’s not the gym. It’s mindful, functional movement designed to help you feel grounded, capable, and calm.

After herniating a disk at the age of 22, I realized the importance of receiving treatment, and learning how to treat yourself. I struggled for years until I learned the tools to relieve my own pain, and how to train my body to prevent future re-injury. This includes the obvious targets: muscles and joints, but also the nervous system, breath mechanics and fascia. All of these play a key role in pain, posture and ability. They even affect your confidence.

What is a 'Sports Relaxation Massage'?

In my treatments I work to find the inputs your body needs to relieve pain, muscle tension and stress - and then teach you how to get those same results on your own. The inputs are different for everyone but I often find myself focussing mostly on joint mobility and stability, and the areas that move with breath:

- Low Back and Hips -

- Mid Back -

- Lower Neck -

- Upper Neck and Jaw/ Headaches -

These are the areas I see most correlated with posture, breath and stress. The pain tends to get worse during stressful times and doesn't respond well to stretching. Releasing tension in these diaphragms and learning to achieve movement in these areas is the only thing that's worked for me personally, and I've seen the best results focusing on these areas with my clients. Once they're moving well, you're mobilizing that area all day long with every breath.

You'll learn how to mobilize and stabilize your own joints, and how to engage your fascia from the top of your head to the end of your fingers and toes... and breathe while you do it!

"I always look forward to my Training sessions with Billy. He has helped me with some specific aches and pains and my overall health, but mostly with learning to manage my breath.

I frequently use the meditation tools that he showed me to manage my stress and emotions. My wife has noticed a big difference in me since we started"

Walter

Retired Manufacturing/Assembly Plant Manager

"The thing I like most about training with Billy is that he teaches me how to listen to my body.  I am getting much better at knowing when to push and when to stop, both in the gym and in life. He has a great understanding of the emotional experience of recovering from injury and chronic pain.

I also love that it's fun! I never thought I'd be lifting weights over my head while on a balance board, on one foot!"

Maria

Global Director of Customer Experience

"Billy led the cast through a series of breathing and meditation exercises to prepare them for the stress of being on-camera.  This helped the group open up and bond, but also gave us tools to use throughout the filming process to manage stress and stay in our element.

I cant reccomend enough that you try out a Moving Meditation class. I still use one of the exercises he taught us to this day."
